Personal Story: Just back from a software design mission in Colorado where I witnessed an amazing change in computer culture.

The Timbers Resorts head office is filled with Mac laptops, Apple TV in the boardrooms, and Mac Mini servers. I was completely shocked every day for a week… and feeling pretty smart (since I also have a Macbook and Apple TV).

The other drastic change I noticed was that everyone is sharing files using Google Drive. I was totally relieved to be find out that all the file sharing we were planning for our project would be handled by Google Drive.

Funny story, my boss wanted me to use Word so we could track file revisions amongst the team. I was bummed… and nervous. I had a feeling there would be struggles due to different versions of Word, Mac vs PC, over-writing the other guy’s changes, viruses.

Whew. What a relief. We’re using Google Docs for that project.
